Salary Range: $32.88 - $40.31 hourly
The Medical Technologist performs moderate to high complexity laboratory testing in the areas of Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Toxicology and Urinalysis. They support patient safety and high-quality clinical outcomes through precise specimen analysis, interpretation, and reporting. The Medical Technologist uses their expertise to ensure test results are accurate and reliable, providing crucial insights to guide medical decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Selects, performs, evaluates, and monitors the performance of moderate to high complexity testing procedures using manual and/or instrumental techniques in all laboratory sections and in accordance with established protocols.
Complies with established safety and infection control procedures.
Recognizes and reacts to indicators of test malfunction; applies appropriate troubleshooting technique; documents action taken.
Evaluates the suitability of the specimen for analysis, requesting new specimen if determined to be unusable.
Evaluates the validity of data in relation to the test system and accepted assay procedures. Correlates quantitative and qualitative data with patient data (i.e., history, medications) to verify results.
